The NFL Alumni – Detroit Chapter hosted their 4th annual Celebrity Bartender Night to benefit the South Oakland YMCA and the NFLA Scholarship Fund. The event was hosted at the Star Lanes at the Emagine Theater in Royal Oak and was a huge success. Local celebrities, the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders and current and former professional athletes came out to serve up drinks for a good cause.
Our own Heather Zara went back to her broadcasting roots for a day, and filled in for Dana on the Blaine & Allyson in the Morning show on 96.3 WDVD. Of course, we documented the highlights on camera! Enjoy some of the segments with this hilarious bunch!

The Detroit Lions’ Stephen Tulloch and Angels of Hope teamed up to host the 4th Annual Athletes Adopting Families event, at Tre Monti in Troy. The purpose of the Stephen Tulloch Foundation is to provide underprivileged children the same opportunities as other children. Our goals are to supply them with the essentials to build self esteem and to be able to achieve their goals and unlock their potential.
Happy’s Pizza gave out over 4000 winter coats to kids in need in Detroit with the help of Detroit Lions and local celebs, Nate Burleson, Stephen Tulloch, Joique Bell, Lomas Brown, Jimmy King and more. It was a heart warming event that will keep thousands of children warm this winter.
Professional football players transformed into waiters at this fun and charitable event, geared to raise money for the Nate Burleson Foundation. The Detroit Lions’ WR, makes giving back to the community a priority each and every season and we love being a part of it all.

Former Red Wing and NHL Hall of Famer, Ted Lindsay, is dedicated to finding a cure for Autism. In his efforts to raise funds to find a cure, he holds an annual Celebrity Golf Outing, featuring several members of the Detroit Red Wings – past and present.
We loved working with Ted and all of the generous members of the Wings organization. Always a pleasure.

We were fortunate enough to cover this awesome event with Rhonda Walker of WDIV Local 4. Rhonda is not only a dear friend and former colleague, she is a kind and giving person with a warm heart. Rhonda held the Give and Get Fit Run/Walk Health and Fitness Fair, at Somerset Collection in Troy to raise money for her foundation and to get Metro Detroit moving. We love the work that Rhonda does with kids in the community and fully support all of her efforts!
The Volunteers of America do such great work helping thousands of people in our community. At their 6th annual celebrity golf outing, they helped raised funds to do even more great deeds thanks to the many wonderful sponsors and golfers that made the day possible. We loved our day at Shenandoah Country Club and hanging out with our friends from VOA, Boost 1 Marketing, Ink Detroit, Happy’s Pizza and many more.
Side note: Lomas Brown is one of the best guys around. This video proves it.
The Women Moving Forward and Reaching Back Brunch is an event hosted by NFL Pro-Bowler and philanthropist, Braylon Edwards and his mother Malesa Plater, President of the Braylon Edwards Foundation. The event was created to honor women who have made an impact in the areas of education, health, fitness, and philanthropy. The brunch is designed to educate, encourage and empower women of all backgrounds to reach their dreams, share their stories and help others along their journey.
Detroit Lions’ Stephen Tulloch and Nate Burleson hosted the 3rd Annual Celebrity Softball Game at King Boring Field in Dearborn to raise money for charity. Big name celebs came out to play in the game and show off their softball skills, including, the Lions’ Calvin Johnson, Jahvid Best, Ttitus Young, Kevin Smith, Cliff Avril and more. Local media and former pro-athletes also suited up. Our own Heather Zara played on the winning team – Team Burleson. It was an amazing event that raised $26,500 for the Nate Burleson and Stephen Tulloch Foundations!

The Celebrity Basketball Game is hosted in conjunction with the University of Michigan’s Annual Spring Game (football program) and attracts fans from across the state and country. The goal is: To offer a family friendly fundraising event to give back to one of Michigan’s many worthy charities.
The NFL Alumni Association held a charity event at The Hamilton Room in Birmingham, to raise funds for the YMCA Strong Kids Campain. Former NFL players and members of the media served as celebrity bartenders, serving up cocktails for a cause.
Detroit Pistons’ Guard Ben Gordon and his lovely fiancé, Sascha Smith, celebrated their birthdays with a fun-filled party at Chen Chow Brasserie in Birmingham on March 31, 2012.
Ben’s teammates Charlie Villanueva, Ben Wallace, Rodney Stuckey, Will Bynum, Jonas Jerebko, Greg Monroe, Brandon Knight, Tayshaun Prince and Jason Maxiell were all there to have a good time and celebrate with the couple.
